Only by Moonlight Nominated for Fandom Choice Awards!!

Wonderful news!!!

Only by Moonlight has been nominated for Best Supporting Cast in the 2014 Fandom Choice Awards!!

Basically, the Fandom Choice Awards are similar to the Academy Awards, but for Twilight Fan Fiction. Only the seven stories with the highest vote counts in each category become nominees, and voting is going on currently. :)

Here's the link for voting: Fandom Choice Awards: Vampire

Voting is open from December 1, 2013--January 3, 2014. I would really appreciate your taking the time to vote for Only by Moonlight for Best Supporting Cast!!! (It's Question #25 of 29, so it's near the bottom.)

I can't tell you how very THRILLED BEYOND WORDS I am about this nomination!! I couldn't be happier!!!

And you make YOU happier, I just sent **two** chapters of Only by Moonlight to my amazing and uber-talented pre-reader, ladylibre, tonight. :)  They need a lot of work, but I hope to get the first chapter up within a week or so, and the second one up by Christmas. :)

So I thank all of those who nominated Only by Moonlight and I'll really thank you for voting!!!!

And I especially thank ladylibre--this story would literally not exist if it weren't for her stellar and clever ideas. And I also thank all of my incredible readers on Wattpad.com and FanFiction.net--you all inspire me!!

Doing a definite Happy Dance,
~Cassandra :)

Still A-Writin'...

It's Lent.

And what does Lent have to do with fan fiction?

Well, I have given up reading fan fiction for Lent. Yep, no reading new fan fiction stories until Easter, except for Sundays (which are not part of Lent).

I'm still pegging away on writing and posting new chapters for Pinned but Fluttering, so no worries there. Promise.

In a way, not reading fan fic stories is helping me to concentrate more on events I want to include in Pinned but Fluttering. So that's a good thing, right? ;)

But it just kills me when a favorite fan fic story's new chapter, such as Nolebucgrl's Words with Friends and Words with Strangers updates. I diligently move it into my "To Be Read" pile and let it wait there until Sundays. It's not easy, but it's a good thing.

So the next chapter of Pinned but Fluttering should be up Sunday. I'm speaking at another women's conference this Saturday, so I doubt I'll have much time to write then. Plus I have a new online class beginning on Monday that I"ll be teaching, a four-week literary analysis class on Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. So I'll be a very busy girl this weekend; I'm just praying that I'll be able to post Chapter 28 in good time.

I did start writing Chapter 28 the other night at 4:00 AM when I thought of how I wanted to start the chapter. The thought hit me while I was brushing my teeth (work kept me up late), so I jotted it in miniscule handwriting on *five* Christmas-themed Post-It Notes; I stuck them into my Creative Journal the following morning. So the ideas are already flowing....

I also have some ideas for additional one-shots, and I'll definitely be writing an Edward POV Outtake for Pinned but Fluttering, hopefully very soon!

Oh, and I must thank Sherryola for her kind recommendation ofPinned but Fluttering on one of her recent chapters of her story Seeing Bella. The number of reviews for my story doubled. Seriously.

 Happy reading and writing,

Welcome!!

Now that Evening Star is approaching its end, I thought it might be nice to start a blog in order to reserve a little space in the Internet world for my wee story.

This week I had more time than usual to devote to ES as my middle son is taking a prep class for high school algebra as he enters ninth grade later this month. Being stuck in the next major town, a twenty-minute drive from our home, gave me time to compose, either in the very noisy library (I much prefer my small town's lovely and fairly peaceful library!) or in the Starbucks. So I've posted two chapters this week.

Chapter 43: Losing Control practically wrote itself. In fact, I was on such a roll in the same sitting that I started on Chapter 44: Repercussions.

My hope is to get Chapter 44 posted on Monday as my weekend looks busy.

Another reason I started this blog is that writing ES is very definitely eating into my regular, In-Real-Life blogging. I have been pouring all my creative energy into fan fiction, and I was feeling a little guilty about neglecting my other writings.

Especially since I am not a fiction writer by nature.

So here we are, the first blog post here under my pen name. It feels good to finally write about this project at long last; after all, I started it in November 2010 on Wattpad and added it to fanfiction.net in early 2011.

I spend so much time teaching writing that I don't have much time to write myself. I was hoping to write more over this summer, but my poor body needed REST. So I devoted myself to reading fac fics, mostly at fanfiction.net. I've listed by favorite completed fics for you in the sidebar; I'll probably mention several that I'm reading as we proceed through this blog.

So, welcome to my little place here to talk fan fics, particularly those of the Twilight persuasion...

Please feel free to introduce yourself in the comments section!! I'd love to get to know some of you better!
